DNP Group Policies

The DNP Group strives to safeguard environmental laws and regulations to facilitate the formation of a sustainable society in the context of our planet’s limited resources, recognizes the relationship of its business activities to the environment, and strives to reduce environmental impacts and promote biodiversity.

  • 1.DNP Group companies establish environmental policies, set goals and targets, review them regularly, and strive to improve them on an ongoing basis and to prevent pollution.
  • 2.When constructing buildings or developing or installing equipment, we conduct sufficient research, forecasts, and assessments of environmental impacts in advance and take environmental protection into consideration. We also actively pursue initiatives in areas such as use of renewable energy.
  • 3.In product research, development, design, manufacturing, and sales, we work to minimize environmental impacts, from raw material procurement to production, distribution, use, and disposal, with a special focus on saving energy and resources and on reducing harmful substances.
  • 4.When purchasing raw materials, office supplies, equipment, and other products, we choose easily recyclable products that facilitate the protection of natural resources.
  • 5.When manufacturing products, we comply with environmental laws and regulations and establish ambitious targets for reducing emissions of pollutants into the air, water, and soil. We also pay special attention to the need to avoid creating unpleasant odors, noise, vibrations, and land subsidence. Additionally, we improve equipment, technologies, and production processes so as to prevent global warming, save resources, and reduce industrial waste.
  • 6.We sort and collect waste products from business activities in accordance with predetermined criteria and strive to maximize recycling, with the goal of zero emissions (eliminating waste entirely).

Environmental initiatives by DNP Fine Chemicals

The DNP Group Code of Conduct states, “We shall contribute to the creation of a sustainable society, so that we can pass on our planet and its abundant blessings to following generations.” Based on that commitment, the entire Group works to use resources effectively, prevent global warming, and protect the environment.
As a member of the DNP Group that develops and manufactures chemical products, we strive to contribute to our customers and to society by working to protect the global and regional environment, ensure safety throughout the product life cycle, and safeguard the health of employees and local residents.
In 2002, the Tokyo Plant and Kasaoka Plant earned certification under ISO 14001, an international standard on environment management systems, and we’ve worked on an organizational level to protect the environment and reduce environmental impacts. In 2019, we consolidated DNP Fine Chemicals Utsunomiya Co., Ltd. with our ISO 14001 system to strengthen our environmental structures. Going forward, we remain committed to developing environmentally responsible products, starting during the development stage, while conducting an ongoing program of activities in accordance with our Environmental Policy.

Reflecting the DNP Group’s philosophy of “connecting individuals and society, and providing new value,” DNP Fine Chemicals Group’s Co., Ltd. contributes to the building of a sustainable society so that we can pass on a rich planet to the next generation.

  • 1.All employees work together to establish goals and targets in accordance with this Environmental Policy and undertake a robust program of activities in an effort to make ongoing improvements and prevent pollution. We recognize global environmental problems and work to address them as a member of society.
  • 2.In product research, development, design, manufacturing, and sales, we work to minimize environmental impacts, from raw material procurement to production, distribution, use, and disposal, with a special focus on saving energy and resources and on reducing industrial waste.
  • 3.We strive to contribute to the building of a sustainable society by creating and supplying environmentally responsible products from the perspective of reducing environmental impacts throughout the product life cycle.
  • 4.When manufacturing products, we follow all applicable laws, establish ambitious targets, and appropriately manage environmental impacts so as to minimize them. Additionally, we make innovations and improvements to manufacturing processes in order to prevent global warming, save resources, and reduce industrial waste.
  • 5.We’ve put in place an environmental management system in accordance with this Environmental Policy, and we strive to undertake concrete activities while making ongoing improvements.
