DNP has key roles in the digital interface business, featuring optical films for displays* and metal masks for manufacturing organic light-emitting diode (OLED) displays, both of which hold the world’s top market share; and the semiconductor business, which includes photomasks for manufacturing semiconductor products and lead frames for semiconductor packaging materials, as growth-driving businesses.
Segment strengths
・Develop industry-leading products leveraging large area functionalization technology in roll to roll process, micro and nano modeling technology, optical control technology, etc.
・Keep world-leading share in areas such as metal masks for OLED displays and optical films for displays*
*Anti-reflection and anti-glare function applied on the display surface
Our core technology
DNP excels in fine processing technology across various substrates, including metal, glass, and resin, leveraging techniques derived from its expertise in printing technology. Among these, the Electronics segment identifies the following three as core technologies:
- Photolithography
- Coating
- Molding
By utilizing these three technologies, we develop and deliver a variety of products to the world.

This technology forms high-resolution replica by exposing light or electron beams on a photosensitive material on the substrate, thus creating the original image.
It is used in the manufacture of a variety of products that require patterning, such as semiconductor integrated circuits, printed circuit boards, printing plates, and liquid crystal displays.

Coating
Wet coating is a process in which inked materials thinly and uniformly cover the surface of a substrate. Combined with substrate design technology, it allows to create coated products having various functionalities.

Molding
This technology, using convex/concave-surface metal, glass, and resin molds, has expanded into nanoimprinting, enabling the transfer of convex/concave shapes onto a base material surface. Stemming from printing processes where plates are synchronized with printed patterns, this technology now transfers patterns of 20nm or smaller*, effectively transferring not only optical features but also textures.
*By nanoimprinting with glass molds, not by roll-to-roll
